Summer News 2021

I'm feeling like the "cobbler with no shoes" when it comes to my own blog and newsletters! Most of that is because I have been so busy. Repairs and restorations. Applying for a few shows. Creating inventory for those shows. Teaching, in-person and online. Creating printed and online materials for those. Managing the 2021 Virtual Seatweavers' Guild Virtual Gathering. Creating graphics, videos and social media for the event.

PHEW! I'm tired reading this!

This is going to be short and sweet (well, hopefully)

The Seatweavers' Guild Virtual Gathering is July 23-25. The Guild decided to keep it virtual quite a while ago. Next year it will be in-person in Tennessee, and most likely a hybrid version.

If you are interested in attending, we decided to keep it free to Guild Members this year. Not a member? You can join for $30 for a single membership for a year.

Check out the events here. They are not full classes, but overviews of different weaving styles and a wonderful presentation on History of Caning by Brandy Clements of Silver River Chairs.

In other news...I had a wonderful spring season teaching at North East Basketmakers Guild and Mid Atlantic Fiber Association.

Upcoming classes and events are listed on my Schedule Page with more to come.

New York Sheep and Wool virtual classes are opening soon. There will be another 2 day session at Connecticut Valley School of Woodworking in the fall.

3 days of weaving a Porch Rocker is coming up in August at Snow Farm

One of the biggest changes this year is doing a show again! I was accepted into Paradise City Arts Festival show in Northampton MA, October 9, 10 & 11 for backpacks under the "mixed media" category, featuring wearable art.

So exciting!

Hope to see you all at any, some or all of these events!

Happy weaving....Sue
